Fishers of men

Snacks for my wife: (essentials for the skimmers)
  • Doc's visit went well. Ultrasound photos from week 8 (1.84cm long at the time)!
  • Racheal quit her job at the coffee shop to finish up with school. Classes start Wednesday.
  • Wrestling season ended with Reagan's first winning record in history of school. Woot woot!
  • The SMOi website has been updated again. Please add Kari to your prayer lists. There are also SWO frisbees for sale that support SMOi missionaries.
  • I've started hosting a weekly high school (and older) guys' Bible study at the Penderosa.
  • PrayeRequests below.
  • BABY FAQ:
    • When is he/she due? September 20, 2009
    • Are you going to find out if it's a boy or girl? Yes, but it will be a few weeks at least before we can tell.
    • How far are you along? Week 11
    • Were you planning on having a baby? Sure were...about 3-5 years from now. Nevertheless we receive this gift from the Lord with arms wide open.
    • How did this happen? Go slap yourself.
    • What are you going to name the baby? Probably Fisher Stone (boy) or Ocean Grace (girl).
    • Are y'all ready? Heck, no! That's why God gives us 9 months.
    • How will this affect your mission plans? We still are being obedient to this direction of the Lord on our lives. That hasn't change. It's not going to. This may push us back a few months. We hope to go overseas as early as January 2010. We still want to go where there is no church yet in undeveloped remote areas of the globe, but the baby may greatly affect how we are able to reach the lost. Please be in prayer as we apply to the IMB.

Meals for me: (extras for the readers)

To whom it may concern,

Life is grand on the home front. There's about a bazillion stories i could share since the last time i sent an update, but i'm tired. Do know that Racheal's morning sicknesses have been non-existent the last few days. She and i are in good spirits.

The guys' Bible study is off to a great start. We are studying Galatians verse by verse. I've had 6 guys already show. Good questions.

I had a really good conversation at work with Jonathan. He walked up to me during lunch, tapped on my car window, and asked, "I was wondering if you could tell me all this stuff about church." Jonathan has a 4 week old son. Please pray for both of them.

This is the first snow i've seen since 2006. How gorgeous! Thanks, Lord!

PrayeRequests:

  • The baby's growth. He/she is growing hair follicles, fingernail and toenail beds, nostrils, and a tongue this week according to the book we got. He/she is also over 2 inches long by now!
  • Racheal as she is going to three different schools each week so that she can graduate this semester. Not bad for a pregger.
  • Next doc appointment in 2 weeks. We're awaiting the results on a test to see if Racheal is still passing too much protein.
  • The parents' (our) preparation.
  • ESL classes.
  • Guys' Bible study.

Quote of the Month:

Lena's new feller, Kyle, came by to eat supper and meet the family. And as we began...
Butch: "Hey wormy! Pass the salad dressing."
me: no answer
Butch: "Didn't you hear me?"
me: "My bad! I thought you were talking to Kyle."
